At Tournament Tennis, we understand that weather, illness and other commitments can sometimes affect attendance. Our policy is designed to provide clear and fair guidelines for lesson cancellations and make-up lessons.
If a lesson needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather, the coach will send an SMS 30–60 minutes prior to the scheduled lesson commencement time.
If you do not receive an SMS from your coach, your lesson is ON.
Tournament Tennis has a responsibility to supervise pupils during their scheduled lesson time. Please do not assume a lesson has been cancelled unless you have received notification from your coach.
In the event of extreme heat, lessons will be cancelled when the forecast temperature is expected to reach 36°C or above one hour prior to the scheduled lesson.
Parents will be notified by SMS if the lesson is cancelled.
While lessons are running, our coaches are unable to answer mobile phones or respond to messages.
Please allow our coaches to focus on providing the best possible lesson experience for all pupils.
Following a washout or heat-out, it is the parent’s responsibility to log onto the Tournament Tennis website and complete the Make-Up Registration Form.
You will be able to select an available day, date and time that suits your child.
Once your request has been processed, you will receive an email confirming your selected make-up lesson.
If your child is unable to attend a scheduled lesson due to illness, travel or another commitment, at least 24 hours’ notice must be provided.
If 24 hours’ notice is not provided:
The lesson will be charged and a make-up lesson will not be offered.
All lesson cancellations must be submitted through the appropriate Tournament Tennis cancellation procedure.
Our Group Programs are structured around 4–6 pupils per class to provide the best balance of coaching, participation and value.
If a class has 3 or fewer pupils attending, a make-up option may not be available.
Tournament Tennis believes that a group of three pupils still provides a valuable coaching environment and allows our coaches to deliver a high-quality lesson.
Shared lessons are designed for two pupils to participate together.
If one pupil is unable to attend due to illness, travel or another commitment and the other pupil attends the lesson as a private lesson, this will count as two shared lessons.
The pupil who attended will then receive a private lesson at a later stage during the Term to balance the shared lesson arrangement.
Tournament Tennis does not provide credits or discounts for lessons that are:
– Washed out –
– Cancelled due to extreme heat –
– Missed due to illness or travel –
– Missed without the required notice –
We provide make-up opportunities across our various venues and programs wherever possible.
Make-up lessons must be used within the current Term and cannot be carried over into a future Term.
Tournament Tennis believes that pupils get the most from their lessons when they are able to fully engage with their coach and the program.
For this reason, we ask parents and guardians not to enter the tennis court during lessons, unless requested by the coach.
This allows our coaches to maintain the attention and focus of the group while creating the best possible learning environment for every pupil.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us provide a positive, focused and enjoyable tennis experience for all our players.
